elevation

March 14, 2007

Here is the latest elevation. The garage doors are now 7′, a few material changes. The entry is quite a bit more worked out.

The door shown is a pretty close representation of the door on order. And the entry details are pushing craftsman quite a bit more. Tomorrow the driveway should be totally graded so I can get a better idea of what is possible for the entry. I’ll explain that later, it is a bit hoaky.  If you want to compare to the older design go to this post.

Approach

Since the house is on a cul-de-sac here is what you’ll see as an approach.

Rub-a-dub-dub. Master bath tub.

You will have to take my word for it, if the tarp wasn’t covering the master deck the view form the tub would be fabulous.

Hanging from the rafters

March 2, 2007

These are attic storage trusses. The problem is the garage will have 12 foot ceilings (quite luxurious) but it ain’t easy to get an attic access ladder that will do the trick. The do make them for 26 inch spaced roof trusses, but these are spaced 24″ and they will not be changing.

Looking East across the attic above the great room.  That serpent moving across the ceiling is the return air.  The grill will be in the clerestory wall above the foyer.

Great Room Windows In.

March 1, 2007

View from the entry. Those windows are oriented to the south. The roof over them is an extended overhang to block the Summer sun, and the bottom 18″ of the windows are double hung to vent and get some air flow.
